We have an exciting International Freight Forwarding apprenticeship position working in the customs advisory and training sector.

The role will include handling enquiries, raising quotes & being trained to draft guidance for issue to our client base who include manufacturers, importers, exporters & freight companies.

Annual wage
£13,500
Increase to £16,000.00 after a successful 6 month probation period

Working week
Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm (1-day a week to be dedicated to apprenticeship)
Total hours per week: 37.5 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

Use company systems to create, manage and maintain the movement of freight
Ensure all customer enquiries are responded to
Adhere to customs compliance procedures and documentation
Work with carriers and handling agents to resolve exceptions and discrepancies
Work with DGF departments on air freight planning and coordination
Update the company's customer complaints system with all required inputs
Develop relationships with customers and colleagues

GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSE's including maths (Grade A*-C/9-4) essential GCSE or equivalent English Language (Grade 5) essential

What training will you do and what qualification will you get at the end?

Level 3 International Freight Forwarding Specialist apprenticeship standard
Road Pathway.
Onthejob training delivered by the employer.
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualifications are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.

Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
Identify, track and support 20% off the job training activities
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This role could lead to a number of well-paid future roles, including becoming a customs broker or a consultant/trainer in this field.

Things to consider
This role will be supported by a number of colleagues who will often be working on site with clients. Therefore, use of initiative and ability to use time towards unsupported tasks during this time is essential
