We are seeking a highly motivated
Sales Director, Clinical Sales Specialist to join a global team of experienced sales / business development professionals who will actively drive commercial growth and awareness of Oxford Nanopore Technologiesacross the clinical research to routine testing market.

They will be responsible for delivery/implementation of the strategic business plan as defined by the VP, EMEA Sales by focusing on operational delivery to achieve the company sales targets across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities


The director will have management responsibility for field-based sales professionals working to deliver sub-regional goals and country-level strategic plans, aligned with field sales strategy.

The team will be further supported by the Field Sales, Tenders,Customer Service, and Technical Support teams within the region.

This role will produce sales reports and updates regarding performance and progress in their respective region(s) for the VP Sales EMEA, to ensure alignment of activities with MarComms, TechnicalMarketing, Applications and Market Development teams are aligned with the sales activities to meet and exceed commercial expectations.


Duties Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning of commercial activity to implement the strategic business plan and sales plans as defined by the VP, EMEA Sales to redefine the existing NGS market within the EMEA
  • Manage EMEA clinical sales specialist team to deliver the agreed revenue targets,
  • Ensure development of the team and empowerment to guarantee success and growth,
  • Device and consumable sales forecasting for designated accounts
  • Drafting reports to the VP, EMEA Sales on progress against the strategic business plan and sales plans
  • Complete strategy in conjunction with executive leadership to demonstrate ONT capabilities in translational and clinical research markets, delivering 13 year revenue outlook
  • Identify potential partnership opportunities to deliver solutions and adoption of ONT technology; working closely with business development to establish partnership relationships & contracts,
  • Build relationships with the KOLs who will become future advocates of our technology, including through site visits and giving presentations to key research and clinical groups,
  • Deliver internal updates to partners and executives; presenting market analysis, forecast expectations & key moderators,
  • Advocate for customer requirements, giving input into product development and segment marketing to address solution gaps,
  • Develop rich competitive intelligence across the market and territory, identifying new growth areas, trends and impact on ONT and communicate to leadership team
Qualifications/Education

Minimum BSc degree in a biomedical or other life science
Desirable experience - 5+ years experience in life sciences or related field in EMEA

  • Experienced commercial team manager in fastpaced industry environment
  • Proven track record in commercial negotiation and relationship management
  • Proven track record as a commercial professional working in a sales, market development or business development
  • Existing relationship with KOLs in human clinical and/or pathogen genomics within the Region
  • Capability to translate market trends and publications to support ONT positioning
  • Experience of working in translational research and clinical laboratories
