Timber Case Maker (Pallet Maker)
Are you a skilled Timber Case Maker with a passion for woodworking and manufacturing? Our client, a well-established woodworking company based in Greater Manchester, is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team.
This is a full-time position with the opportunity for temporary to permanent employment, providing you with stability and career growth in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Timber Case Maker, you will play a pivotal role in our production process
Your duties will include:
- Assembling wood using air staplers.
- Using hand tools to preassemble components.
- Operating a panel saw and various woodworking machinery.
- Assembly of wood using screws and staples.
- Working on a fastpaced production line/Bench.
- Utilising a variety of hand tools for repairing pallets, ranging from minor fixes to full repairs.
- Using a pneumatic nail gun to repair or assemble pallets.
- Managing pallets on the repair table by removing defective boards, replacing them with new boards, and securing them with nails.
- In the assembly department, stocking boards and nails based on the type of pallet desired.
- Taking responsibility for troubleshooting jams and performing basic maintenance on the saw.
- Be prepared for physical work, including standing for extended periods and repeatedly lifting pallets.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
- Essential experience working with air tools and sanders within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous production experience, with a preference for those who have worked with wood products.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Access to your own transport is preferable due to the location.
- Safety shoes are required, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including dust masks, hearing protection, and safety glasses, will be provided.
- You will receive a comprehensive risk assessment and induction on your first day of the assignment to ensure your safety and understanding of our processes.
