Buyer / Procurement Controller
Salary £30,000 to £40,000 doe
Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 17:15pm Friday 8:30am to 13:00pm

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Buyer
Responsible for sourcing and all aspects of procurement for all company requirements. Establish and maintain supplier relationships and negotiating supplier contracts whilst monitoring performance and cost.
We are looking for someone with strong negotiation skills and ideally a Technical/Manufacturing background, able to read engineering drawings

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Buyer_
Essential:
O Level, GCSE or equivalent required
Desirable:
CIPS qualification
- Experience dealing with electromechanical parts and ability to read drawings_

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Buyer_
- Responsible for all purchasing requirements presented to the department ensuring the quantity, delivery and cost requirements are met.
- Obtain quotations for parts/equipment when required.
- Manage Vendor rating system in liaison with QA department to monitor delivery, supply and quality performance and carry out visits to supplier premises as required.
- Negotiate and manage contracts set up with suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers and carry out regular reviews to ensure the company maintains the best possible price, quality and target agreed delivery dates.
- Process SPR requests and raise orders for SPR parts ensuring the parts will be delivered as specified, competitively priced and in a timely manner. Monitor and expedite to assist this aim.
- Liaise with Accounts to set up new approved supplier accounts on the system.
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries from purchased items.
- Review and action overdue reports in conjunction with Stock Controller.
- Assist Stock Controller to place orders from reorder report for items not manufactured in house.
- Source alternative Suppliers for parts when required.
- Assist with expediting when required.
- Plan and carry out supplier audit visits with QA in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
- General support to Materials Control Manager.
- Any other duties requested commensurate with the nature and level of responsibility of this role.
