The Role:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform site surveys to design and quote for new plumbing & heating systems.
  • Supervise engineers, setting clear standards of quality and performance, and checking progress.
  • Manage daytoday activities, including repairs, servicing, and installations when required.
  • Work closely with the Mechanical contracts manager to deliver the highest standards of client and customer care.
  • Address and resolve onsite issues, queries from engineers, clients, and customers, providing technical support.
  • Stand in for Manager during annual leave, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Provide onthejob training and support to team members.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime.
  • Regularly inspect sites to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Order spare parts for machines and tools and document performance and repairs.
  • Contact external contractors in the absence of the Mechanical contracts manager.
  • Manage works performed by external contractors.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within agreed timescales, managing workload accordingly.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
  • Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
  • Keep all paperwork up to date for audits.

Essential Criteria:


  • Gas safe/OFTEC Qualified with a minimum of NVQ Level 5 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and regulations.
  • Experience with Plumbing/heating systems.

Desirable Criteria:


  • Basic knowledge of Electrics, building trades, and maintenance.
  • Effective budgeting and performance management skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and datadriven with the ability to influence different departments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Clear and engaging communicator.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities.
  • Strong numerical reasoning ability.
  • Ability to organise time effectively and prioritise tasks based on urgency.
  • Familiarity with construction codes and regulations.
