Description

Introduction
IBM iX design interns will experience a variety of projects ranging from Service Design, UX and Visual Design.

Service Design focuses on the end-to-end digital experience.

Tell us about your experience taking into account an organisation's needs, a customer's needs and how you have used technology to help you.

UX Design focuses on the functionality of the page - show us your approach, how you solve problems and how your solutions evolve.

Visual Design revolves around high-quality visuals with an emphasis on accessibility - show us your graphical skills, UI skills, branding design, concept development and of course, your 'end results'

IBM Technology design interns will experience a variety of projects ranging from workshop facilitations, UX and Visual Design.

As part of the Client Engineering team, you will learn how to co-create solutions with our customers by using the IBM Garage method.

Our most common entry points for new projects will be a range of customer-facing design workshops, ranging from business framing to solution scoping.

UX Design then focuses on how the solution we will be building speak to the target users. The goal is to maximise the business value for our customers by delighting their own users or customers.

Finally, you will get a chance to be embedded in a multi-disciplinary squad working together to actually deliver the solution.

This squad will be comprised of technical, product and design-minded professionals, giving you a chance to explore how designers collaborate with other disciplines.

While the UX design activities will carry on during the delivery phase, you may also have a chance to flex your visual design skills, bringing either the IBM or our customers' brand to life.

Both iX and Technology group are looking for multidisciplinary interns who are enthusiastic and willing to learn, so don't worry if you are stronger in some areas than others.

These roles will only be based in London

There are several stages of the recruitment process:

  • You will be asked to provide your CV and some information about your studies and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Following the virtual assessment centre, you may be asked to attend a portfolio review and design interview, with a designer in IBM iX or IBM Technology group (virtual) where you can talk more about your design experience, methods and examples of your work.
  • Finally, if you make it all the way to the end, you'll start with us in Summer 2023
