Landmarc Support Services Ltd manage and maintain over 220,000 hectares of land across the United Kingdom on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (part of the Ministry of Defence).

This land provides realistic and challenging terrain for military training and comprises some of the most important and remote landscapes in the country.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Training Area Operative at Ash Ranges, in the South East of England. The role will work outside on the Ranges and Training Area carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks on the Estate, these might include basic DIY, repairing targets, hand over and take back of the ranges from the Armed Forces.

This role is a full-time, permanent post, working weekdays over 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Preparing military ranges and training areas for use
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Driving and operating fleet vehicles
  • General maintenance and DIY skills
  • Forestry and maintenance works
  • To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work
  • Cleaning duties
  • Manufacturing targets

What you can do

  • Knowledge of working safely
  • Have a full drivers licence valid in the United Kingdom
  • Basic IT skills such as tablet use
  • Previous cleaning experience desirable
  • Willingness to undertake full training
  • Knowledge in Health and Safety, such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessment and safe systems of work.
