As Senior Wholesale Risk Data Analyst The role is located in the Wholesale Risk Data team and has global reach through Group & regional analytic teams.

You will be required to work in an environment of significant ambiguity with autonomy, dealing with major issues for which there is no clear solution whilst still being able to provide judgment and clear direction.


In role you will expected to demonstrate a high level of technical and managerial expertise with regards systems and data management, whilst managing projects and any resources accountable on a project-by-project basis.

Wholesale Risk data function serves the needs of Wholesale Risk sub-functions, specifically GRA (Global Risk Analytics) for the purpose of the credit risk model development and monitoring programme.


The development of a sustainable end-to-end data management framework, including data governance and quality are of critical importance to support the business functions.

Data is fundamental to the development of risk models and the ongoing monitoring of their performance.

Development of centralized processes improves operational efficiency and reduces the risk of data duplication or inconsistent processing by analysts. Global scope covering model types ; IRB Capital, Economic Capital, ESG (climate risk), IFSR9/Stress Testing, Digital decisioning.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide Enhanced to data processes to allow more efficient model validation and development
  • Lead identification of data sources and obtain appropriate access
  • Report on any errors which may impact regulatory model development or reporting which may result in damage to our reputation with regulators
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with IT & System owners, as well as quantitative analysts within Regulatory Risk & Analytics.
  • Support personal development and influence the development of the wider global GRA & data teams by leveraging their system and analytics expertise and knowledge to coach and mentor
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Understanding of Wholesale Credit, their risks and direct experience of deployment of controls and analytics to manage those risks.
  • Strong data manipualtion and analysis skills (SAS, SAS DI, SQL, Python)
  • Understanding of data frameworks and engineering (HADOOP, CLOUDERA, CLOUD infrastructure etc)
  • Experience of visualisation tools and techniques including Qlik and Tableu
  • Knowledge of data required for risk modelling
  • Data Warehousing experience
  • Strong data analytics background


The role offers remote working flexibility, your work location will be based in London with the expectation to be in the office two days a week.
