University Hospital Wishaw is looking for Lead Medical Secretary and Theatre Scheduler to join the team in the Surgical Department.
The post holder will supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks, to provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently.
The post holder will take primary responsibility for organising theatre schedules for your speciality (or specialities ) to make optimum use of the available capacity.
The post holder will flexible and able to cover other sites within NHSL
A car driver is essential and must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job.
- SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus at least 2 years experience as a medical secretary.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change.
- Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
- Advanced audio typing skills.
- Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure.
- Careexperienced applicants are people who live/have lived with foster parents/kinship carers or who live/have lived in a residential children's setting/secure unit.'
