Are you looking for a challenging new opportunity, in a fast paced and ever-changing environment?
We've got a fantastic Commercial Finance Trading Analyst opportunity, responsible for driving performance improvement in Food.
You will work closely with the Trading team,

supporting the strategic direction, decision making and insight into commercial performance.

As a team the focus is to develop and implement Business Intelligence innovations to create value for the business with insight and recommendations to the leadership team.

We also play a key role in ensuring we deliver the trading plan through detailedcategory analysis on sales and promotional performance and active monitoring of gross margin, costs and inventory.

We work alongside the commercial team to implement action plans.

Your Role

You will provide Trading Finance and Commercial with regular insight and analysis. Your expertise in the available data to Asda and the wider market will add value and your data visualisation knowledge will turn this data into opportunities to drive salesand profit.
You will merge financial and nonfinancial data to present a complete picture for decision making across Commercial
Also, support the monthly forecasting process and lead continuous improvement.
Providing consolidated summaries on Food to support P&L reviews at both category and Total Food level
Support weekly sales management through timely insightful reports
Design and setup reports to track strategic initiative trials and roll outs before transitioning to Asda Business Services

About you

Good attention to detail which will lead to getting things right first time which in turn will build credibility with key stakeholders.
Willingness to work outside of the team to identify useful data and tools in other areas of the business to bring back.
Independent and curious keen to get to the right answer and work through any issues along the way.
You will work closely with the rest of the Trading Finance team and Trading to build a solid knowledge of Commercial.
A positive attitude and keen to develop motivated to get the job done and to deliver to tight timelines; actively seeking accountability and opportunity
Demonstrate inquisitive approach, an eye for detail and solid financial modelling skills, evolving in line with business and external requirements.
