Would you like to join the forward thinking therapy team working on the medical wards at Arrowe Park Hospital? There are 2 posts available as part time or full time hours.

Can you work as part of a team, being flexible and adaptable with good organisational skills? Are you reliable and conscientious? Would you like to join the team working under the supervision of qualified staff, to support the smooth running of the service as part of a 7 day service focused on patient centred care?


The role requires NVQ level 2 in a relevant healthcare topic, or experience to an equivalent level, along with basic computer and manual handling skills.

Good oral and written communication will be supported by numeracy and literacy qualifications and an empathetic approach to patients.

To work under the supervision of a qualified Therapist (OT, Physiotherapy)


To support the smooth running of the Therapy team by performing a range of routine clinical clerical, administrational, housekeeping and departmental tasks.

To work directly with the therapists, or to carry out delegated duties.

To carry out routine treatment plans and activities, prescribed by the Therapists.

To participate in providing 7 day services and extended working day, as required by the service.

To work with the Therapists to ensure that they deliver the principles of patient centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible and accountable for the quality and standard and safety of own work and to achieve the levels of competency required by the role.
  • To help patients to continue with routine treatment programmes and therapeutic activities as directed by a qualified therapist.
  • To feedback to the therapist regarding the patient's progress, or any concerns.
  • To ensure that all documentation relating to their clinical involvement with patients (electronic or paper) adheres to AHP and trust standards.
  • To manage their allocated workload effectively, with support and guidance from the Therapist.
  • To contribute to the smooth running of the team/unit by carrying out a range of clerical and admin, household and departmental tasks.
  • To be responsible for the safe use of equipment that they use during treatment.
  • To at all times maintain the principles of confidentiality of patient information
