HR Manager

Newcastle/North Shields

£48,000 - £52,000
A requirement has emerged for a HR Manager operating within a fast-paced, traditional Manufacturing environment.

My client is eager to secure the services of highly capable HR Manager in order to provide a higher level of (and more robust) service than haspreviously been experienced.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, with a dotted line to the HR Director, this role will provide a truly generalist service in a standalone capacity (although you will have a larger HR community to engage with across the wider business).

Forming part of the ManagementTeam you will be able to deal with all range of HR issues within this highly unionised environment.

Responsibilities will cover the entire HR lifecycle including recruitment, training & development co-ordination, employee relations, engagement initiatives and generalist HR & admin support; whilst also being the first point of contact for all site level HRqueries.


Priorities for this role will include:

  • Taking ownership of People and Succession Planning.
  • Standardising salaries, with a clearer wage strategy.
  • Building skills across the whole business.
  • Dealing with ER issues including Trade Union negotiations/discussions.

With a capable and loyal workforce already in place the HR Manager's objective is to improve skills and working practices.

An important part of the role will be to ensure HR processes and policies are adhered to whilst ensuring the HR strategy is deliveredat a local level.

To be considered for this role you will be:

  • An experienced HR Manager, confident in working in a standalone capacity;
  • Experienced in working with and engaging Trade Unions, not being afraid to challenge/be challenged by Union members;
  • Proactive, forwardthinking, with a track record of having worked within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
