Kitchen Manager to join our amazing team. This role is based in
Gilwell Park with Hybrid working.

Contract Type:
Full time (40 hours per week)

Salary:
£36,712 per annum Band F Level 3, inclusive outer London weighting

The Kitchen Manager role:


As a
Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on a set cycle menu to cater for our diverse guest audience.


You will be in charge of managing and delivering the day-to-day kitchen operations at Gilwell Park, which includes managing the kitchen team and ensuring that we deliver good value and high quality food, whilst complying with safe food regulations and ScoutAdventures food safety policy.


As well as the day to day, this role will lead the way with planning and coordination of catering for our large-scale national events that happen a few times a year at Gilwell Park.


Key responsibilities as our Kitchen Manager:

  • Menu development and costing for day-to-day catering as well as events catering in Gilwell Park
  • Cooking a varied range of nutritious food for guests and staff at mealtimes
  • Overseeing service to an exceptional standard and interacting with the guests and volunteers in an appropriate, knowledgeable, and helpful way always, in particular with regard to allergens and other dietary requirements
  • Stock ordering and managing stock
  • Managing and assisting with routine and deep cleaning of the kitchen, food storage, service and dining areas, including heavy and light equipment and machinery, crockery and cutlery, in accordance with the cleaning schedule
  • Enforcing established kitchen systems and procedures to guarantee an efficient and organised meal service
  • Planning and Managing events and functions as required

What we are looking for in our Kitchen Manager:

  • Experience working in a busy kitchen
  • Experience in catering in large quantities ie, school setting
  • Have proof of event planning
  • Experience in working with or providing service to children
  • Experience managing a kitchen team and volunteers
  • Hold a Food Hygiene qualification or be willing to work towards one
