Experience of working in a public or large organisation

Experience of work in Supportive Housing and/or Community Care
Experience of working with, and understanding of the housing support needs of vulnerable people


SKILLS AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL
Knowledge of the responsibilities of housing and social services departments in relation to the Housing Support Grant regime
Ability to prioritise work and meet targets within tight timeframes.
Good interpersonal skills.
Evidence of freelance working.
Good skills in report writing
Ability to research, collect and analyze data.
Knowledge and understanding of the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Experience using Microsoft software or similar

Purpose of the Post.

  • Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Maintain and develop supported accommodation for vulnerable people in partnership with a number of governmental and nongovernment service providers. Monitor service provider performance against agreement and take remedial action where appropriate.
Responsibility for functions. e.g. staff, budgets, equipmentMain Duties

  • Contribute to the production of Commissioning Unit schemes as required to align with statutory guidance.
  • Collect all information necessary for the production of the Housing Support Action Plan and the development of supported accommodation to accompany statutory guidance.
  • Map out the need and provision of available accommodation with support provided.
  • Provide all necessary demographic information (along with the statistical content) about those people in need of supported accommodation including information on the level and intensity of need in relation to type.
  • Provide all necessary information regarding types of support need in relation to the Housing Support Revenue Grant.
  • Work with a wide range of support providers in accommodation whether governmental or nongovernmental.
  • Participate in planning and/or development groups created to provide strategic direction and/or implement agreed policies.
  • Develop projects in accordance with statutory guidance.
  • To undertake service reviews of support providers in line with Government guidance and Council policies and to make recommendations leading from the reviews.
  • Contribute to contractual arrangements with service providers.
  • Make recommendations for the expansion of the Housing Support service including the implementation of any IT regime.
  • Liaise with other local authorities about the provision of crossborder support services and attend forums and meetings as required.
  • Participate and assist in the Unit's training and staff development programs.
