An MRP Controller is required for a family-owned global engineering business that manufactures high value, complex capital equipment supplied to a wide and varied customer base.

Due to the success of their products in key markets they are now looking tostrengthen the internal material control and planning team.

In this position you will be responsible for improving master data and inventory control accuracy using a modern MRP / ERP system.

The position requires an in-depth understanding of materials controloperating within a fast-paced production environment that uses MRP, Kanban and both push and pull material management systems.

The bespoke nature and complexity of products produced gives rise to multi-layer BOMs and high individual part count that can runinto the 1000s.

It is essential that you have experience gained working in a similar environment.


To be considered for this MRP Controller position you must have / or be.

  • Working as an MRP Controller, Material Controller, Materials Production Planner or Materials Logistics Controller and have experience working within a complex engineered product and manufacturing environment that operates an advanced MRP / ERP system.
  • A thorough understanding of Material Control Planning and the requirements of Kanban, pull & push systems and engineering change control and its impact related to inventory and stock holding.
  • Experience of modern manufacturing methods and problemsolving techniques, 5 Whys and root cause analysis would be useful.
  • A strong engineering or manufacturing background ideally ONC/HNC/HND/degree qualified with experience of Material Control, Master Data, and Item Master establishing and setting parameters using an advanced MRP / ERP systems
  • A passion for Continuous Improvement, setting high standards able to work at pace, and input data accurately while working to standard operating procedures.
  • Dynamic, data driven and numerate, with an inquisitive nature and not afraid to question and challenge at all levels of the organisation and prepared to get out on the shopfloor when required.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation, able to create understanding and a desire to change in the people you work with at all levels.
