    1 to 2 days per week in the office to connect and travel to shops across the John Lewis estate on an adhoc basis which will be discussed prior to visits.

About the role:


As a Category Planning Senior Executive, you will support the creation of specific innovative customer/marketing strategies and plans which deliver on the key commercial, brand and customer targets.

This role sits within the Fashion & Beauty Category Marketing team, with a primary focus on Adults Fashion.


You will be responsible for coordinating the customer plan delivery process ensuring business owners and planners are aware of the process to deliver change.

You will work closely with the Category Buying teams to identify product stories and hero lines for marketing.

You will support the delivery and administration of John Lewis Marketing functions, ensuring consistently high standards are achieved.


What will you be doing?

  • You will support the development and creation of a 1218m customer marketing strategy and plan for a relevant category and ensure it helps deliver the Customer and Commercial Targets.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating the customer plan delivery process to ensure the correct activity concepts are briefed on time across all key meetings
  • You will own the customer plan roadmaps, managing change control to the plan via an effective process and ensure that this is captured and updated onto the roadmap. Any points of escalation to be made to the Customer Planning Manager
  • You will support the Category Planning team in generating new ideas and opportunities for marketing, building customer propositions and effectively communicating plans to key stakeholders across the Partnership.
  • You will own the product nominations process, working collaboratively with the Category Buying teams to identify marketing lines through selection and styling meetings. You will ensure all product information is accurately recorded and shared with key stakeholders in the marketing team.
  • Proactively support the team to deliver efficient ways of working, to ensure that processes are clear, efficient and appropriately analysed to land creative and compelling customer experiences across our channels. Seeking out best practice from other teams and optimises existing processes accordingly.

Essential skills you'll need:


  • Great communication skills and relationship building
  • Experience of working with and improving process and planning
  • Track record of creating / executing delivery plans crossfunctionally

Desirable skills you'll have:


  • Experience working with Fashion product teams
  • Planning experience in a large omnichannel organisation
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Interpreting insight and data
  • Product marketing experience
