Overview:
Due to our continued expansion we are looking for a new Fleet Controller. As Fleet Controller, you'll oversee a fleet of units and trailers, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle roadworthiness, coordinating hire and de-hire processes, and promptly addressing maintenance needs. You'll also evaluate service providers, identify cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate cross-departmentally for seamless operations.


Location:
Corby

Shift Pattern: 45 hours per week, Monday Friday


Salary:
Negotiable.


Interviewing w/c 13th May 2024.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage and oversee a fleet of 60 plus units and 100 plus trailers, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain a valid CPC holder status, with a preference to obtain or possess the company O license.
  • Implement and maintain fleet maintenance schedules, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate the management of hire and dehire vehicles, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal utilisation.
  • Act promptly on reported defects from drivers, arranging repairs and maintenance as necessary.
  • Plan and track service vehicles, ensuring timely maintenance and minimizing downtime.
  • Review and evaluate service providers, ensuring quality and costeffectiveness.
  • Identify areas of high cost and inefficiency within the fleet, providing recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Agree on costs and sign off on invoices related to fleet maintenance and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of fleetrelated activities.
  • Prior experience in fleet management or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Possession of a valid CPC holder status.
  • Familiarity with fleet maintenance practices, service schedules, and roadworthiness requirements.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Proven track record of leadership and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fastpaced environment.
