Your Role and Responsibilities

Your role will be to work with our clients to deliver Mainframe/Core enterprise projects from complex transformational requirements, using a your knowledge, skill and experience.

Working on exciting projects ranging from Mainframe traditional through to integration and migration supporting public and private Cloud based engagements.

This is a Mainframe storage role that provides a fantastic opportunity to operate in a squad to address a diverse mix of large and complex client projects.

With our global Partner Alliances you will have opportunities to work on projects that will integrate with a whole range of technologies from Azure to AWS, GCP or Nutanix.
You will also have the opportunity to work with Kyndryl clients across multiple industries.
You will work closely with our clients, our Kyndryl teams, our cloud partners, and our 3rd party service providers.

Who you are
Are you confident in working with Project Teams and clients to understand the Customer's business and requirements? Do you have a desire to challenge and succeed?

Do you have professional knowledge related to mainframe storage technologies and their related devices, Mainframe storage support experience with Disk and tape solutions?

Do you have a working knowledge of zO/S, MVS Fundamentals and storage fundamentals ?

Do you recognize complex problems related to functional objectives?

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Mainframe Storage Support: Experience with DASD and tape data storage solutions (Experience on DASD/Tape Configuration and Migration) for mainframes.
Strong communication and client facing skills.
Data movement and migration (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication / PPRC / XRC) and Managing the Copy services / GDPS.
Expertise in Storage hardware subsystems including IBM DASD (DS8K), IBM Automated tape library and IBM Virtual tape library (TS7700/TS7720/TS7740/TS7760).

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Initialize/Add new DASD volumes and Add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets.
Manage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines.
Manage and Maintaining DFHSM & Catalog's.
Storage dataset (RMM/HSM CDS & Catalog file) reorganization.
Disk and space management.
Experience in generating all type of storage reports, SMF and Dcollect.
Experience in set up the new DR environment.
Experience in Storage box Configuration (DASD & Tape).
Experience in Storage box data migration (DASD to DASD and Tape to tape) and Storage replication.
Experience in EMC's storage (VMAX and DLM) and Replication (SRDF) technologies.
FICON Directors / Switches (Brocade)
Configuration, Management, Fabrics & Zoning
Networking / Firewalls / IP networks
