About the role


What you need to know:

  • Assisting the Financial Reporting Manager with the provision of key Financial Reports for AIG Life.
  • We are currently undergoing significant change around the financial operations and controls. The jobholder should therefore enjoy working in a changing and sometimes challenging environment.
  • The jobholder will need to assist the team in managing high volumes of queries and requests from the business. They should therefore be organised and able to effectively prioritise.
  • The jobholder will be required to work with flexibility in order to meet the demands required for a small team. The company will in turn offer flexibility in working where possible.

What we're looking for:

  • Project reporting, including preparation and review of business cases as well as cost/benefit analysis.
  • Preparation of Key Performance Indicators for AIG Life.
  • Preparation of finance analytics, including investigation work.
  • Assist with Finance Business Partnering.
  • Handling of internal and external queries.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit when required.
  • Maintaining good process and controls.

Principle Skills:

  • Financial Acumen
o Strong control environment background and expertise.

o Experienced in financial reporting

o Ability to identify and investigate unusual financial items and follow up finance related queries

o Understanding of accounting processes- General

o Strong customer service orientation.

o Takes full ownership and responsibility for delivery of assigned tasks in agreed timescales.

o Keen attention to detail.

o Able to work both independently and as part of a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

o Good communication across all teams within the business

o Ability to manage key stakeholders when dealing with invoices and expenses

  • Commenced study of AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Experience working in Insurance or other financial services preferred
  • Prior work experience in a multinational organisation preferred
