Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

You'll play a key role in growing and developing the communications team and creating and delivering our internalcommunications strategy to maintain and grow employee engagement by keeping our staff informed through regular, meaningful and consistent communication.


In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Head of Internal Communications will involve:

  • Develop and lead a team to execute the strategy through inspiring and effective leadership
  • Lead the planning of content for events including our staff conference and any other internal events
  • Ensure effective internal crisis management systems are in place
  • Champion staff engagement and work closely with the HR team to ensure alignment with our people strategy and ongoing employee engagement
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communication channels including our staff intranet and social media
  • Develop and delivering creative and innovative multichannel and targeted planned internal communication and campaigns
  • Develop creative and innovative new ways to communicate to our employees using intelligencedriven insight from annual and pulse surveys
  • Oversee the development and content creation of our intranet using analytics, SEO, trends and insights to optimize performance

As Head of Internal Communications, we need you to have:

  • Excellent leadership skills to drive forward our internal communications strategy to make sure our employees feel heard and informed
  • A degree in a discipline that is integral to communications and marketing, such as English, Journalism, Marketing or Media
  • Strong experience in a senior communications role
  • Proven experience of writing, leading and delivering internal communication and creative strategies
  • Experience of working with colleagues at all levels across a diverse organisation, including at senior management or board level
  • Working with internal stakeholders to deliver effective messaging and increase employee engagement
  • Experience of managing multichannel communications
  • Experience of leading internal communication campaigns and projects
  • Evidence of ability to identify and execute innovative storytelling using written and visual content
  • Evidence of ability to lead and develop the skills of a busy, multitasking team
