Job Purpose


This role will be based full time at one of our 5 sites and at times there will be a requirement for business travel between sites.

The core role location will be determined depending on the home location of the applicant and the needs of the most suitable site.


Your Core Accountabilities

  • Inspire and influence the organisation in all aspects of the CI process to enhance local capability, acting as one of the business champions of Lean and 6 Sigma, proactively deploying this expertise to support business performance.
  • Design, plan and lead the execution of multiple workstreams in the CI Strategy Plan, such as Benchmarking, Sponsorship Training, Lean in the office and Workplace Organisation.
  • Support site teams in Lean Methodology through theoretical and practical training on standard work, workplace organisation, structured problem solving and Lean wastes.
  • Facilitate, and in some instances lead Green and Black belt level business critical projects.
  • Support the Performance Improvement Programmes across all APUs to the value of £3m a year, typically 2030 projects per site a year.
  • Support the development of SQCDPE KPI review process to the business gold standard.
  • Build rapport with the leadership team and ensure collaborative working towards common fit for the future goals while developing and embedding a positive CI culture across the sites.
  • Act as a conduit for information between sites to ensure that best practice is captured and replicated working collaboratively with other CI Specialists in the CI Function.

Critical Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies

  • Minimum Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt certification, Black Belt certification preferred as well as Science, Engineering or Manufacturing qualification.
  • Autonomous working with the ability to manage a large workload and deliver on all commitments whilst being adaptable and prioritising effectively.
  • Tenacity/Passion/Determination driven to chase the end goal and to drive the site performance forwards.
  • Outstanding communication ability and stakeholder management across all levels of the business, with the ability to grow cross functional relationships and to influence outside of immediate sphere of control.
  • Practiced in the Management of Change.
