The role

An opportunity has risen for a full time Team Manager to join our committed staff team in the Residential & Family Placement Service.

You will be enthusiastic, creative, passionate and motivated to achieve positive outcomes for the children that need a servicefrom our Permanence team.

As the Permanence Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading a committed and motivated staff team.

You will be working collaboratively with colleagues across Children's Services and with partners including our regional adoption agency Adopt North East.

Your team will lead on supporting children on their journey to adoption including holding case responsibility following a Placement Order being granted.

You will have good management skills and experience that reflect your ability to lead, develop and support a team of social workers.

You will have experience of working within a safeguarding setting and have the ability to build and maintain effective relationshipswith colleagues from both within the agency and externally.

You will be part of the Residential & Family Placement Service management team and contribute to the future development of the service and work collaboratively to improve performance that will impacton improving the outcome for children and families that we work with.

Essential requirements:

  • You will have excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex messages in a straightforward way, both verbally and in writing.
  • You will not be afraid to think creatively to solve problems.
  • You will be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of children, young people and families.
  • You will always want to hear the young person's voice and ensure that this is taken into account.
  • You will be passionate about maximising a child's life chances to improve their overall outcomes
  • You will understand the importance of performance information and your contribution to maintaining high standards.
  • You will have experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment
  • You will be able to contribute to the development of the service.

You must hold a relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS and be registered with Social Work England.
