Salary - Circa £63, inclusive of a non-consolidated allowance) plus excellent benefits

Overview of project/role

As a Non-functional Tester you will work alongside our Agile Scrum development teams, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers to ensure that our developed software and infrastructure meets the performance and load demands of Transport for London's millions of customers and users.

Key Accountabilities

You will be accountable for building maintainable performance and load testing frameworks - from single component to large-scale multi-vendor fully integrated systems - and where necessary, implementing them as part of development pipelines.

You will work directly with Solution Architects and Products Owners to ensure Non-Functional Requirements are reviewed and tested, reported on, and bugs raised when requirements are not met.

You will produce Non-Functional Test Approach for assigned projects, including reviewing non-functional test approach documents and non-functional test reports received from third party suppliers and carry out test assurance on their non-functional testing.

You will have experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and with on-premise and Azure/AWS cloud Infrastructure. You will be able to specify test plans, environment requirements, test data requirements.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Skills

Highly experienced with JMeter and able to integrate JMeter tests into Azure DevOps/AWS pipelines (YAML)
Experienced in other performance test tools such as NeoLoad, Loadrunner, RPT, K6, Blazemeter, Locust
Producing Nonfunctional Test Approaches and NF Test Reports
Awareness of security concepts such as Active Directory, SSO, MFA
Using Postman and Fiddler for testing API endpoints
Test Automation experience
Develop and execute performance test scripts, debug issues and collate results, capture and analyse performance test metrics and make recommendations to stakeholders
PowerShell/JavaScript scripting capabilities
C#/.NET programming skills

Knowledge

Performance testing; Load testing; Stress testing; Endurance testing; Volume testing, Soak testing, Peak testing, Spike testing.
Microservice Architecture Patterns
Azure/AWS Cloud technologies
Shift Left Testing concepts
Understanding of Behaviour Driven Development
Software testing lifecycles
An understanding of testing Microservices
An understanding of testing RESTful and SOAP services

Experience

5+ years' experience in Non-Functional (Performance/Load) Testing
Experience working and communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization
Working well with team members and maintaining technical conversations on nonfunctional requirements
Experience context switching and working on multiple projects
Demonstrable experience of Agile development principles and ceremonies
