Intelligent Resource Recruitment is working in partnership with a major Client in the UK. We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Lineside Planner for one of our clients for contract opportunity.

Location:
Oxford, UK (2 days per week onsite)

Summary:Logistics Planner has overall responsibility for their scope of planning aspects within the supply chain from supplier to fit point and empty return. The Logistics Planner has responsibility for the detailed planning for all logistics processes, by liaisingwith other key process partners (e.g., central planning network, material planning, physical logistics, assembly logistics planner, project steering and finance) ensuring that the total supply chain is consistent, viable, cost effective and efficient. Feedbackfrom COCs and face teams is an essential element of a logistics planner role to ensure standards and methods are adhered to and any new developments understood and implemented by the team.


Key accountabilities of the function

  • Create Supply concept for all part families from supplier to fitment point, including packaging transport and warehousing and secondary handling.
  • Identify and remove waste / handling steps from the supply chain.
  • Evaluate and input evaluation costs for gams changes or project supplements, transport changes or overall cost impact of new model for plant oxford Logistics.
  • Work to the RSML reference model and the logistics target picture, ensuring all business decisions align with the target picture.
  • Series support for life cycle impulses or SBWE vehicle projects
  • Coordinate and lead realisation / implementation team status for all projects
  • Coordinate and lead nomination supply strategies to ensure most efficient supply chain.
  • Implement handover and sign off process to operations.

  • Sole responsibility for a number of part families, container types or process areas into Plant Oxford includes being responsible for any optimisations, resource relocations, engineering changes, new vehicle projects, new model launches and reference valuechains concerning the planner's scope. Realised savings within the value stream.
  • At synchro points sign off logistics contents and status reviews
  • Reference value chains, processes, best practice are understood and integrated into planning.
  • Contribution of logistic input for resource & relocation
  • All process partners involved in the supply chain.
  • Externally with suppliers, hauliers, shipping lines, logistics providers
  • Internally with Manufacturing, Purchasing, QMT, Finance, Physical Logistics, LQS, IT, Central TV2 & TV 4,000to5,000part number scope and data
  • Influence decisions contributing to circa £100M annual transport budget and circa £42M physical logistics budget.
  • In line with ITO support vehicle project actions of which all are at a different phase at any one time (including life cycle impulses, new model launches, new packages) and understanding the required prioritisation to ensure all milestones are met successfully.

Education

  • Qualified to NVQ level 3?
  • Work experience, Leadership experience
  • 5 years of OEM product and process experience. Strong network within the plant and the logistics network globally, experienced in both, planning and the operational business.
