A position has arisen for a
Finance Managerwithin a prestigious local authority in South Wales.

Location:
South Wales - Hybrid

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate:
£300 per day

IR35 Status:
Inside

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, Risk & Assurance and working closely with the rest of the City Deal Office Leadership Team, personify this mindset shift, and demonstrate adaptive and valuesled leadership
Develop and maintain a strong financial control environment for all City Deal operations, which in turn will enhance and improve associated governance structures and the overall programme delivery framework
Develop and implement, robust and timely financial reporting framework which proactively identify areas of business risk and produce relevant and meaningful mitigation plans
Prepare and review monthly management accounts including comparison against budget, future forecasts and providing commentary and variance analysis
Prepare the monthly board pack aimed at providing up to date information at Project, Programme and Portfolio levels to a range of internal and external stakeholders on all City Deal activity, as setout in the Annual Business Plan.

Essential Experience:

Fully qualified CCAB Accountant or equivalent, or fully qualified AAT and prepared to study and complete a CCAB or equivalent qualification within 3 years
Wide knowledge and understanding of Local Government finance, with a good understanding of accounting standards and codes of practice
Experience of preparing financial reports, budget monitoring and undertaking reconciliations
Ability to lead on financial and accounting tasks on 'project basis', including undertaking the necessary research
