About the role:


Actual hours and days will be described in a 'Schedule of Work'.


We are looking for registered Social Workers who would like to experience supporting Social Work students through their programme of training.

We are looking for people who are interested in acting as personal academic tutors and supervisors for independent study with the opportunity for module delivery as well.


Principal accountabilities:


  • Duties may include any of the following:
  • Formal scheduled delivery of Teaching, Lectures or Workshops
  • Preparation of teaching materials required in the delivery of the above
  • Preparation of Reading Lists
  • Responsibility for keeping of University records, reports or returns as appropriate including marks and notes are submitted to the module leader for assessment boards.
  • Contribution to assessment design as appropriate
  • Marking, moderation and electronic submission of marks as required
  • Supervision of Doctoral Research
  • Responsibility for tutorials
  • Student Support
  • Independent Studies supervision
  • To comply with the requirements of Health & Safety, other relevant legislation and University documentation

Essential Criteria:


Qualifications:


  • Registered Social Worker
  • A good degree in a discipline appropriate to the discipline being taught and professional experience

Experience:


  • Experience of working in Social Work

Skills, knowledge & abilities:


  • Ability to teach at the appropriate level
  • Ability to relate theory to practice
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good presentation skills
