Location:

Salary:
£35,000 - £50,000


Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Lead Field Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Design, build, and maintain radio communication systems.
  • Provide technical assurance to customers in the field, both on radio and associated IT infrastructure.
  • Cover call out duties in support of customer maintenance contracts.
  • Assist with the preparation tender documents when needed.
  • Preparation / review of engineering reports, technical documentation, and training aids as required.
  • Contribute where and when necessary for the good and benefit of the engineering department.
  • Stand in for the Engineering Manager when required.
  • Mentor and lead to a high standard.
  • Review Scheduleit and make necessary recommendations based on experience.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Good standard of education.
  • Good literacy and numeric skills.
  • Most IT qualifications considered.
  • DBS (Criminal Record Check).
  • RF propagation experience.
  • Strong IT experience specifically:
  • Database management.
  • Networking topologies.
  • TCP/IP.
  • Experience in fault finding across a multitude of telecommunication platforms.
  • At least 10 years within telecoms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Trunk / POC / Wave experience.
  • RF fault diagnostics.
  • IBDAS.
  • Excellent written and telephone communication skills.
  • Keen eye for attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours at short notice if needed.
  • Driving license and willingness to travel.
