Change Recruitment are currently partnering with an award-winning Manufacturing business in Somerset to recruit a Process Safety Manager.

Leading the process safety team, this role is in place to ensure the production site meets the safety requirements of a lower tier COMAH site.

Covering infrastructure, planned maintenance and predictive planned maintenance to ensure all process safety assetsare operating at optimum levels.

With the Engineering Manager you will be the technical lead TPEF under BS EN , BS EN 61511 Functional Safety.


Key responsibilities of the role will include:


Operational:


  • Identify operational risks and opportunities through HAZOP Workshops
  • Support site DSEAR, PUWER and HAZOP committees
  • Ensure DSEAR Risk Assessments are carried out and documented for all activities, where required, and safe working practices are followed or established. Address any Actions arising from both HAZOP & DSEAR Assessments
  • Ensure appropriate safety systems are in place, are uptodate and appropriate checking procedures are established (i.e. gas detection, LEV, etc.).
  • Ensure operating procedures and contractor management controls exist for all major Process Safety Engineering activities.
  • Manage daytoday crossfunctional team to deliver process safety maintenance and ensure equipment breakdowns are kept to a minimum
  • Take the lead in the delivery of strategic maintenance activities and major refurbishments relating to ATEX Inspections
  • Ensure all jobs are logged correctly in CMMS
  • Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) are understood for assets and proactively support the rectification of any potential issues.
  • Support Verification and Validation of new assets, where appropriate within Process Safety Engineering

People:


  • Ensure all Process Safety Engineering annual Personal Development Reviews (PDRs) are completed promtly, with any training and skills requirements identified and acted upon

  • Take the lead on budget building programmes for site Capex, providing robust costings for potential projects within Process Safety Engineering
  • Manage daytoday P&L for Process Safety Engineering team.
  • Manage daytoday indirect spend to ensure stores is fit for purposecovering essential spares for ATEX rated equipment
