The Global Credit team offers an array of liquid and illiquid credit products designed to meet specific client risk and return profiles.
European Middle Market Private Debt team are part of the European Fundamental Credit business, within Global Credit, andprovide, on behalf of BlackRock's clients and funds, mid-market companies with senior and subordinated loans for acquisitions, capital growth, restructuring, LBO's and liquidity situations.
The team seeks an experienced Credit Analyst to lead underwriting,fundamental credit analysis, due diligence and approval of new investments.The Global Credit team offers an array of liquid and illiquid credit products designed to meet specific client risk and return profiles.
European Private Debt team is part of the European Fundamental Credit business, within Global Credit, and provide, on behalf of BlackRock's clients and funds, mid-market companies with senior, Unitranche and subordinated loans for acquisitions, capital growth,restructuring, LBO's and liquidity situations.
The role will entail the following:
Restructuring Activities:
- Monitor and manage underperforming investment in the portfolio
- Lead restructuring and/or workout activities by designing and implementing restructuring and recovery strategies
- Model recovery value optimisation scenarios and provide recommendations to PM team
- Management and negotiation with key internal / external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcome
Portfolio Monitoring:
- Maintain effective monthly financials management, monitor metrics of portfolio companies and report to the team on the same and contribute to client reporting metrics
- Prepare and contribute to monthly/ quarterly portfolio reviews
- Monitor timing of receipt of information / compliance certificates and other borrower's obligations for portfolio companies
- Draft mandate waiver and amendment requests with recommendations to Investment Committee
- Assist other team members in performing financial due diligence procedures as well as other initiatives related to the portfolio companies
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent analytical and data analysis skills, highly numerate, responsive with high attention to detail
- 510 years' experience in investment banking and/or restructuring (leveraged finance, restructuring advisor and/or restructuring / workout team within a bank or private debt / direct lending)
- Deep understanding of the relevant documentation and how it can affect the design and implementation of restructuring and recovery strategies
- Motivated team player and flexible in approach with ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills presents ideas in a clear, concise and constructive manner
- Ability to prioritise, working to tight deadlines and flexible to meet workload
- Keen to question, challenge and improve
- A methodical thinker able to resolve complex issues on a daily basis
- Strong academic background
- Fluent in English; other European languages skills considered a plus
