First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner on behalf of our client based in London.

This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join an established yet expanding business with an excellent opportunity of career advancement.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Produce employment offer letters, contracts of employment, and righttowork checks, and assist with employee visas.
  • Support a smooth onboarding process, including the induction process covering compliance and IT training.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate reference checks are undertaken for current employees and new recruits.
  • Ensure staff changes are communicated to the financial controller (for payroll and planning purposes).
  • Maintain HR recruitment records, monitor recruitment spending.
  • Supporting the internal regular team communications.
  • Keeping the team up to date with team news, new starters, birthdays etc.
  • Support on promoting our employer brand by helping the CFO and marketing teammember with social media activity.
  • Track probation review and annual performance appraisal deadlines and liaise with managers to ensure timely completion and documentation.
  • Update policies and our employee handbook in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Ensure employee records are kept up to date.
  • Responsible for organising executive/team events, including offsites and investor days.
  • Support and nurture reward and recognition initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with charities whilst encouraging involvement internally.
  • Support line managers in performance management procedures and the organisation of training.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and engaging physical office environment that enables people to do their best work.
  • Responsible for ensuring fire, health and safety standards are met in line with our policies and the team is all trained on the procedure.
  • Maintain office security.
  • Responsible for organising and maintaining supplies of office equipment and stationery, catering supplies.
  • Actively check that data protection laws are being adhered to in relation to the storage of data, ensuring we remain compliant.
  • Proactively support the team with adhoc administration eg typing, presentations, travel.
  • Work with any other support staff to ensure that the office is running smoothly and ensure that there is pooling of tasks and resources.
  • Providing cover for other support staff whenever required.
  • Responsible for dealing with and reviewing suppliers, including corporate travel
  • Implementation of all office and company policies and administering them.
  • Deal with landlord on any office maintenance or refurb issues.
  • Responsible for the management of the outsourced IT support, ensuring SLAs are met.
  • Managing all telecommunications (internet, phones, backup lines etc), liaising with providers, sourcing quotations at renewals.
  • Maintain record of all 3rd party service contracts for renewal/termination dates. As required, obtain quotations and make recommendations for changes.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Experience within a senior HR position.
  • Knowledge of current HR practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, esp. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Personable and positive, with excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Imaginative and resourceful with the ability to work using own initiative and without supervision.
  • Flexible approach with regard to ad hoc duties.
  • Team player with confidence to influence, motivate and gain the confidence of team members.
  • A problemsolving approach to work and the initiative to tackle challenges.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Familiarity with legislation in the areas of employment, fire, health & safety, and data protection this is useful, but not essential.
  • Discreet the ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional, confident and 'cando' attitude.
