Great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Project Lead / Manufacturing Design Engineering Manager to work for a high-technology manufacturing company developing complex, high-value equipment.
As the Manufacturing Project Lead, you will manage the day to day running of the department, leading the manufacturing team, responsible for budgets, resource planning and scheduling.
Responsibilities:
Delivering customer-configured systems with the appropriate engineering documentation, whilst meeting the cost and manufacturability targets.
Managing the orders tailored to the customer requirements.
During new products introduction, you will be focusing on managing of the BOM, design for manufacture, cost optimisation, outsourcing.
Responsible for manufacturing engineering projects using own team and/or external design companies to achieve the project/design objectives.
Supporting continuous improvement for systems and efficiency improvements, working with field service teams, managing the change note process.
Providing full product documentation to support build and test as well as delivering internal and customer documentation.
Requirements:
Degree (BEng or MEng) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
Strong technical knowledge, recent and relevant experience in design for manufacture covering mechanical, electrical and control aspects.
Strong attention to engineering detail and experience of implementing and promoting a continuous improvement.
At least 5 years' experience as a manager or a team leader and good understanding of project management practices and processes
Experience in high vacuum systems, pneumatics, gas systems, precision liquid handling, production automation is desirable.
Desirable to have experience in working with budget, forecast and manage against financial measures
PC literate with proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
Excellent problem solving, organisational, management and communications skills
