We have a fantastic opportunity for a Internal Audit Policy and Tax Accountant to join our team based nationally with flexible working.

The salary on offer is up to £57,000 with 6% matched pension and eligibility for our annual 10% bonus.


About the role:


The role holder will join the Corporate Finance team professionals who provide financial planning and budgeting, reporting, control, and general ledger oversight for NHS Property Services, as well as leading our Finance Shared Services, Internal audit, taxcompliance, value programme and Corporate Business Partners covering business operations including responsible business and energy.


The role will be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of the agreed Internal Audit programme, supporting the coordination of the NHS PS Policy framework, and supporting NHS PS to meet its tax compliance requirements, whilst taking ownership of mattersof tax compliance, this includes but is not limited to the preparation of the annual corporation tax return, quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS return.


Although the role is based nationally, there will be the occasional requirement to travel into our London office based in Canary Wharf.


What you will bring to the role:

  • Qualification in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent including experience.
  • High level of corporation tax and VAT compliance knowledge.
  • Good understanding of financial management and financial accounting, including Internal Audit knowledge.
  • Understanding the purpose of internal audit and related processes.
  • Knowledge of core financial controls within a large organisation.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong practical knowledge of VAT compliance and corporation tax
  • Experience working with and influencing control environments
