Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,500 people in the UK.

BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including many training services. As the company grows we have a need to expand our current Training Capability in the Fixed Wing domain. This is an exciting time to join a growing team of training experts.

This position is an opportunity to work on a state-of-the-art aircraft training facility.

At the core of the facility is a brand-new Server system which controls and links in to full motion flight simulators and part task trainers, multiple electronic classrooms and complex brief/debrief rooms.

The work will include account control, security of the system, and maintenance of the servers to ensure peak efficiently.


Position Responsibilities (not limited to):


Skills, Education, and Experience:


  • Good communication and interpersonal skills able to converse with personnel from multiple skill areas, cultures and functions.
  • Experience in administering and managing computer operating systems; microcomputer hardware and software system environments, including installation of operating systems, software patches, software security maintenance and software upgrades as required;
  • Proven knowledge and experience using and installing networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls.
  • Experience of performing hardware and software installation in a client/server environment;
  • Experience of performing routine maintenance, to include diagnostic testing and optimization;
  • Management experience of the administration of privileged user accounts in accordance with system rolebased access schemes.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of computer systems and network components;
  • Windows server, network administration and experience of complex systems administration experience.
  • Maintain current CISCO CCNA certification, Security+ certification, A+ Plus hardware certification, NETAPP Data ONTAP 8.07Mode Administrator (NSO154) certification as well as Linux, Windows Server and VMWare server. Relevant experience will be considered.

This role will operate on shift pattern and some occasional out of hours work may be required.
