An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Environment Lead to join our education team.
The role of the Learning Environment Lead is designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for Practice Assessors/Supervisors and students.
The postholder will be required to promote high standards of care through role modelling the demonstration of clinical expertise, leadership and professionalism, whilst working along-side the senior team and training team, assisting in the delivery of effective programmes and the facilitation of high quality learning.
A key element of the role will be to facilitate a positive learning environment in the classroom, simulation and clinical areas where student development is encouraged and supported, and talent is fostered and enhanced.
To be the operational lead for promoting, developing and supporting the quality of learning environments which ensure the workforce is fit for purpose.
Participate in facilitating feedback to the practice placement area and HEI following student evaluation and ensure the feedback is used to improve the student learning experience.
Complete student data reports for HEE and other external agencies
Take the lead for promoting, developing and supporting the quality and equity in the provision of the learning experiences and placements.
Act as an interface between HEE and WHTH to prepare the Trust for quality monitoring of practice and practice visits associated with external organisations, such as the NMC, and any other on-going quality monitoring enhancement review process.
Lead the collection of student feedback to the practice placement area and HEI following student evaluation and ensure the feedback is used to improve the student learning experience.
Escalate any serious untoward incidents involving students as per current policy.
To coordinate and be involved with educational audit cycles with HEI's and the Trust, auditing the learning environment.
Line management responsibilities, including managing the clinical skills facilitator for learners.

To line manage the shortened course students/ apprenticeship/ return to practice midwives, including sickness reviews, recruitment processes and liaise concerns with the HEI.
Organise Service Education Meetings
Co-ordinate and provide the delivery of local student induction to ensure students are suitably prepared for practice placements as per mandatory requirements.
Ensure Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors meet the requirements of their professional body for the role and maintain a live record of the PS/PA's in maternity.
Develop and facilitate initiatives for supporting and enhancing student learning in practice in response to need and to improve the learning experience.
Facilitate student experience focus groups and work with the Practice Development Team for final placement 3 rd Year student's development programme.
Contribute to curriculum and other relevant course planning within the HEI's, ensuring the practice component of both local needs and national standards are met.
