We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our building services team at our Leavesden office, Watford


Working as an Assistant Buyer you will provide buying support service to the OU to enable the effective delivery of operational support to our customer.


You'll:


  • Support operational teams and procurement manager at both tender & project delivery, through to timely completion of procurement activities for sub contract, material and plant packages as allocated by line manager, including:
  • Supply chain prequalification.
  • Negotiation with suppliers to minimise cost and provide best value.
  • Tender documentation compilation and issue to market.
  • Technical and commercial appraisal of tender returns, in conjunction with works package and procurement team.
  • Contribute to compilation of package recommendations.

We are looking for:


  • Computer literate in word & excel and purchasing systems.
  • Material, plant and basic sub contract procurement experience desirable.
  • Basic supply chain market place knowledge and network.
  • Working primarily at project level with input into departmental strategy
