GENERAL SUMMARY:


The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the operation of CNC Machinery over a variety of roles from 5 axis machining, horizontal boring, vertical boring and mazak turn/mills including the self inspection of finished goods from the machine to ensure process control is maintained.

Responsible for following all health and safety codes which involve machinery.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Operate CNC Machinery
  • Quality assurance inspection of parts according to drawing
  • Maintain efficiency records of equipment
  • Perform safety and housekeeping tasks
  • Perform all machine set up duties
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks

SKILLS:


  • Strong numeracy/mathematical skills are essential.
  • Mechanical skills
  • Must be capable of operating CNC machines and manual machinery including jib cranes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Time served Machinist apprenticeship
  • Machine operation experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Experience on CNC machines essential.
  • Programming experience preferred, at least able to read/edit competently.
