Children and Young People, Specialist Services Direct Payments is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to support families of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to fulfil their potential and aspirations.


Whilst caring experience is always useful, you don't necessarily need to have worked in care to be a great Direct Payment Worker, the right attitude and a person-centred approach is more important.

We are looking for a Direct payment worker who is outgoing, energetic, and fun to look after a young man with special educational needs who requires full support to stay safe.

Hours will be 4 hours per week during term time and 8 hours per week during school holidays. Days to be worked to be agreed with the parent.

Their interests include ice-skating, swimming, Gravity, and they love to be outdoors enjoying walks and crabbing.

The worker should have knowledge of working with children with complex needs and should be approachable and confident in working with young people.

The worker will also need to be flexible and understand that the day's activities may be led by how the young person is feeling.

The family would ideally like a worker that can commit to doing long term work with their young person.
