Youth Worker (Residential, Young People, SEND/SEMH)


We are seeking a Youth Worker for our school, a mixed independent residential special school for children aged 9 -18 who receive an EHCP because they experience a range of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties or other associated difficulties.

The school is expanding our school and looking for youth workers who will:

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Working and supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence.
  • Direct practical interactions with children and young people including activities, cooking, and engaging with the wider community.
  • Planning and coordination of activities.
  • Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements.
  • Engage in planning, implementation, and delivery of care plans.
  • Working in partnership with other agencies.
  • Report writing and attending reviews as required.

Starting Salary:
from £22, £24'496 p.a.


Contract Type:
Temp to Perm (60 working days).


Working Hours:40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, term time only to include 3 evenings until 11 pm (excluding Friday) and 4 mornings. In the permanent position, there are two sleep-ins required, with a bonus of £39 per sleep-in. No Weekends, no work through half terms and breaks.


Experience is not essential, but a Level 3 NVQ in Children in the Workforce is desirable and will affect the salary band you will start on.


The school is committed to the development of our staff team and offers continual professional development including the opportunity to undertake a Level 3 Diploma Working with Children and Young People.

Drivers are preferred due to the location and the shift patterns needed with the role.
