Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Blackburn are currently recruiting for a proactive and hands on Payroll Clerk to join the business on a full time, permanent basis.


What does the role involve?

Responsibilities include:


  • Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll
  • Full control of monthly payrolls from start to finish
  • Checking and inputting hours onto Sage Payroll
  • Producing monthly reports for the directors
  • BACS payment to client
  • Producing and distributing wage slips
  • Processing p45 and p46's
  • Liaising with relevant departments and completing month end reconciliations
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation

Who would be the right fit?

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a payroll function
  • Experience of maintaining HR records (preferable but not essential)
  • Experience with Sage Payroll and Sage 50 (preferable but not essential)
  • High degree of integrity
  • Strong team working skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise a busy workload to meet tight deadlines
The company will provide training on in house systems and support for external training and development. A personalise development plan will also be agreed with the successful applicant.
