Service Delivery Supervisor
Changing the way people think about waste

At Biffa, we love working with waste.

Whether we're turning it into sustainable power, finding new ways to recycle it or simply keeping it off the streets, we believe every day is an opportunity to improve the lives of millions.

It's a view that's shared by our 10,000+ people around the country, who trust us to provide them with a career that's always rewarding, often challenging, but never dull.

And it's why we're the UK's No. 1 choice for business waste management.

A quick look at the role.

The Service Delivery Supervisor will supervise and control operational activities of the depot for either the Collections contract or the Street Cleansing contract.

The role will involve managing the workforce in the achievement of their daily/weekly/monthly tasks while ensuring the safe and efficient completion of the service within the requirements of the contract.

With line management responsibility involved, there may be the requirement to conduct team briefings, address staff on an individual/group basis and to also have some challenging conversations when required.

The Biffa division you'll be supporting.

Biffa's household waste division delivers a range of cost-efficient, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK.

With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3 million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain.

Biffa's street cleansing division delivers a host of requirements to Biffa's local authority contracts, and sees its teams make cleanliness a reality for public roads, streets and pavements, as well as some of England's most popular beaches.

With 'smart' mechanised sweepers, as well as traditional brooms and hand carts, Biffa's street cleansing staff service town centres, residential areas, car parks and public spaces, as well as public toilets, carriageways and gullies.

This often makes them highly visible to local residents, many of whom contact their local council and Biffa to express their appreciation for this important local service.

Other duties include clearing abandoned vehicles and other bulky items, as well as removing fly tipping and graffiti.

Biffa's commitment to high service standards has helped win accolades As well as working with clients in the face of slashed central government budgets, to rezone areas and cleansing schedules, enabling the authorities to cut costs with little decline in overall cleanliness standards.
