Acre is working with one of the leading global banks to help them hire a Director of Climate Risk.

This is a unique role which is a part of the front office team and will work closely with the second line risk teams to help the bankers grow the businesswhile managing climate risks and strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Climate Risk, you will be leading a team of analysts to oversee and manage climate risk for the bank's portfolio across sectors and regions.


You will be responsible for:


  • Leading climate risk analysis for the bank's portfolio, analysing current and future risks
  • Working closely with the front office teams to gather data and build client questionnaires
  • Reviewing the climate risk analysis done by the team and sharing insights with other teams
  • Working closely with the Head of Climate Risk to establish an effective framework for the identification, assessment and management of climaterelated risks and opportunities
  • Analysing the client's climate risk strategy, including industry and company level risk factors, effect on balance sheet and climate risk scores
  • Working closely with credit, risk and other internal teams to ensure the portfolio performance and risk management is aligned with the bank's goals
  • Supporting the Head of Climate Risk for strategic initiatives and projects
  • Managing relationships with external partners like rating agencies and service providers
  • Continuously reviewing external thought leadership and upskilling the team
  • Strong experience in climate risk, ideally with a bank, rating agency or consulting firm advising similar companies, preferably with experience in analysing hardtoabate sectors
  • Experience in analysing industry and companylevel climate risk factors
  • Good understanding of climate change related developments, including regulatory changes and their implications on financial institutions and other industries
  • Ability to manage teams and collaborate with other teams in a matrix environment
