Jager Freight LTD has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor to become part of our team at an established warehouse based in Grays, Essex.

- Has previous experience working with groupage trailer loading and offloading
- An RTITB or equivalent counterbalance FLT certificate is an essential requirement
Responsibilities:
- You will be required to load and unload heavy goods vehicles with groupage shipments.
- Efficiently stacking and storing the palletized freight in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Also, ensuring all pallets are labelled with the correct label, reporting any quality/quantity variances to the manager as per the internal procedure.
- Daily, preuse safety inspections of forklift trucks and, if necessary, report any issues found.
- Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to stack and package goods for transportation safely.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area, assisting in maintaining the tidiness of the warehouse, canopy and trailers whenever required and taking the lead where necessary.
- Raise any H&S issues, incidents, near misses or accidents directly to a manager needed. Ensure anyone in the yard is compliant with H&S & PPE.
- Ensure all daily practical tasks are completed on time by the Warehouse team, and trailers are loaded and secured in a timely manner
- Provide operational cover within the Warehouse team as required including manual handling of goods and operating a forklift
- Communicate key messages from management to the team where required
- Escalate operational issues to the manager for further action where necessary
- Banksman for all truck movements
Experience and education:
- Relevant work experience gained in a Warehouse environment.
- Proven experience in working under pressure to achieve set targets and meet deadlines.
- Proven supervisory experience with the staff.
- Maintaining Health and Safety standards in the workplace (an understanding of First Aid principles)
- Forklift driving experience
- Previous experience of working with European goods is an advantage but not essential.
Salary:
£30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- loading and offloading groupage trailers: 1 year (required)
- Supervising: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- conterbalance forklift licence (required)
