Calderdale- . Recruitment PackWe are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer to join our Intensive Housing Management service in Calderdale. This is a new, part time, permanent position. The hours for this post are 16 per week (we can offer some flexibility in hours offered).

We have two office bases, one in central Halifax and one in Brighouse. Both offices have free car parking available.


The role
You will be working across Calderdale supporting the day-to-day operational management of properties.

You will provide intensive housing management to tenants including duties such as assisting tenants to comply with the terms of their occupancy agreement, recording, handling repairs, minimising voids.

You will liaise very closely with internal and external professionals working with tenants.


What we are looking for

  • An understanding or experience of the challenges faced by people going through difficult times e.g. homelessness, illhealth, offending, unemployment etc.
  • Understanding of and/or experience of strengthbased, personled approaches to working alongside people.
  • Experience of housing management including reporting repairs, health & safety, void management, dealing with tenancy issues, tenancy enforcement etc.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong partnership working; liaising and working closely with other agencies/organisations to provide a holistic service.
  • Experience of the welfare benefits system, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
  • Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a larger team.
  • Valid driving licence and use of vehicle for work purposes
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • A passion for enabling people to use their talents and abilities to solve their own difficulties.
  • Ability to listen to people and recognise them as experts in their own lives.
