Finance Systems & MI Anlayst - 12month FTC

Job Purpose


Assist the Reporting Manager in producing operational and management financial reports for the Finance users, including maintaining existing analytic reports and dashboards and to assist with new development requirements, with training and guidance frommore senior staff.

Main activities and responsibilities


The Assistant Reporting Developer will work closely with the Finance Reporting Manager along with other members of the Finance teams and with IT colleagues.


The role will assist in the delivery of Finance reports using the existing tools (including Oracle BI and SQL, SQL Management Studio, Excel, PowerQuery and Power BI) and working alongside IT colleagues.


Key daily tasks include:

  • Assist in collecting and documenting requirements from Financial Users
  • Assist in identifying data sources
  • Assist in create data models
  • Assist in creating visualisation layer for end users (dashboards, filters, views, charts, trends, user security driven access to data)
  • Assist in documenting the technical specifications of the reports
  • Assist in publishing and maintaining the reports (fixes, changes, etc.).
Technical Specifications

Required

  • Information Technology background or strong interest and familiarity with the general concepts of data management and reporting development.
  • Understanding of basic Excel functionality
  • Interest in developing knowledge of basic principles of SQL query writing
  • Interest in acquiring specialist knowledge of data manipulation and data analysis principles (e.g. data formatting, data cleansing, data visualisation).
