We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills together with a confident and pleasant telephone manner.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate good IT skills as well as a keen eye for detail and have the ability to multitask.


This is a full time post of 37.5 hours per week, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 5pm shift.

This post will have line management responsibility for the Outpatient Reception staff.

They will work alongside the Service Coordinators in developing standard operating procedures to support staff training and to ensure compliance with best practice and standards.

This post supports the Outpatient Appointment area within the department and duties will


involve:


  • Booking Patients in for thier outpaitent appointment
  • Dealing with patient queries
  • Booking new/old appointments
  • Telephone enquiries from patients other external sources and internal staff/depts/wards.
  • Manage outpatient waiting lists and ensure outpatient targets are met at all times.
  • Liaise with Service Managers or their team on a regular basis in relation to patient's that may breach the waiting list target.
  • Managing clinic cancellations/reductions.
  • Housekeeping of new and follow up waiting list on (PCS) patient administration system and new ereferrals.
  • Managing (TRS) telephone reminder system and rescheduling or cancelling patients as appropriate.

As a reception team leader the post holder will be required to have the following:

  • Excellent level of customer services/Interpersonal skills
  • Selfmotivated but also good as part of a team
  • Organised
  • Methodical/thorough
  • Computer literate
  • Staff and rota management skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Knowledge of PAS (PCS) and Referral to treatment (RTT) 18 week pathways would be an advantage.
