Description
Design Engineer required for a full-time permanent position - I am working exclusively with my client a successful and expanding engineering company require a Design Engineer to join their growing and highly successful team who have an unrivalled reputationfor delivering high quality across a broad spectrum of commercial clients, on permanent basis.
Main Duties:
- Liaise with clients to identify their requirements
- Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects or components
- Summarise scientific and engineering principles in an easy to understand manner
- Write technical reports to summarise findings
- To create and maintain and both 3D CAD data, 2D drawings / documents of new and existing parts using Catia V5 and NX where applicable
- Cover the concept, specification, tender and development of new projects or components.
- Design the aesthetics, materials and functionality of components
- Use CAD, CAN and CAM systems to design and visualise projects
- Undertake model making, prototyping and product testing
- Identify new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs
- Undertake complex calculations
- Communicate effectively with the clients, colleagues and contractors involved in a project
- Lead a team of engineers
- Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.
- Undertaking design elements for projects of varying scales.
- Managing a project to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
- Create specifications for Data Centre and Critical Environment projects.
- Perform critical reviews of design drawings and specifications
- Manage quotations from subcontractors and other specialists when required
What we need from you:
- Min of 3 years' experience in this role is essential
- Degree qualified in Design and/or Electrical Engineering or similar
- Extensive experience in the field of electrical design and experience across a range of small/medium to large scale projects and/or building types
- Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
