This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated project support officer to bring their transferable skills to a high-profile transformation programme on behalf of Dorset Integrated Care System, to deliver real improvements in patient care and outcomes.


The role will give you the vital exposure and support network to help shape the Dorset health and care system on the next stage of its journey to deliver an integrated intermediate care service.

We are looking for a passionate individual who will work closely with the Home First Programme team to shape and support key Home First projects; and develop effective working relationships with partners from across health and care to develop proposals and implementation plans that deliver against programme objectives.


The Home First Project Support Officer is a full-time weekday post however could be flexible and consider minimum of 30 hours.

The majority of this post will be remote working but some travel will be required to any site areas across Dorset when needed therefore residing in Dorset would be preferable.

This is a secondment post for 12 months and fixed term will also be considered.


As Home First Project Support Officer you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of key projects, with the aim of preventing avoidable hospital admissions.

Ensuring treatment and care are provided close to home. Discharging patients when ready to the most suitable place, preferably their home.

The Home First Programme is a priority transformation programme for the Dorset Integrated Care System.

The purpose of this post is to support key strategic and operational change projects and service improvements that will support its delivery.


To support Home First project leads in the development and delivery of priority workstreams and contribute to the effective running of the Home First programme office.


To take the lead as directed by the Home First Programme Manager for delivery of key project tasks, including developing and maintaining project plans and project control documents.


Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must, and some experience of supporting projects would be a benefit but not essential.


You will have the ability to build and develop collaborative relationships with different health and care partners to formulate and adjust delivery plans.


You will be comfortable with complexity and able to use data to analyse options and make recommendations which may involve the negotiation with or persuasion of others to meet project objectives.
