Role responsibilities
The Environmental Compliance Coordinator will provide support to the Environmental Compliance Team to ensure adherence to environmental legislation, regulations, and governance requirements across Transport for Wales (TfW)Responsibilities/Accountabilities insert here

  • Support the delivery of TfW's EMS by working with colleagues to audit, assess and suggest opportunities to improve ways of working to ensure that we are acting in compliance to Green Dragon requirements and support the promotion of continual environmental improvement across the Group and to ensure we're complying with legislation.
  • Support the Environmental Compliance team in implementing environmental improvement measures across different business units by working with internal stakeholders to reduce our costs, make efficiencies and reduce environmental incidents.
  • The role will aim to support in the identification and mitigation of environmental risks as they arise and support the implementation of measures to improve environmental performance through our Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • In the absence of the Environmental Health Advisor, respond to and assess environmental incidents and waste issues by acting on information,
undertaking site visits and providing administrative support where necessary to minimise/mitigate against any damage to the environment.


Who we're looking for

  • Qualification in Environmental Management, Geography, Environmental Risk, or equivalent working experience.
  • Experience of Environmental Management Systems and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience of supporting an Environmental Management System within an organisation (ISO14001, Green Dragon or similar).
  • Knowledge of Environmental legislation in Wales and England.

Welsh Language Skills


Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.

We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
