The Role:


Delivering UKs energy security and materially shaping the energy transition we aspire to needs all levels of the organization working together effectively.

  • innovating how we work
- the day to day basic of running and improving our operated portfolios performance
- developing oil and gas reserves economically to meet the external promises Shell has made and
- responding to new challenges in securing wind and Carbon Capture Storage (CCS)


This role is the chief coach and change management expertise that will further improve performance in leadership and the frontline.

The Organisation Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement (OE/IC) Lead is part of the Shell UK Transformation team and will provide Continuous Improvement (CI) expertise to the business and report into the GM Transformation.

What's the role?


The OE/CI Lead will be the role accountable for practically developing and driving the UK's cultural and behavioural journey through others.

You'll thrive on taking external concepts and the best of OE and CI knowledge to help define a new culture and leadership journey, bringing that to life through a cross campus implementation plan.


You'll be responsible for the UK's capability and competence, ensuring we can deliver and meet current requirements as well as building the plan for tomorrow's needs.

Working with the Transformation Lead you'll build the CI deployment plan and be accountable for building CI skills and culture through each area of the business.


More specifically, your role will include:

  • Identifying barriers to delivery of business goals and objectives by engaging with senior business leaders.
  • Developing meaningful solutions

Your input shapes the transformation approach and agenda. You are seen as part of powerful partnerships with leaders to unlock people and the value they create.

The role requires understanding of the current business context and external environment, combined with experience in cultural and CI improvement and the ability to translate that knowledge and deliver in a programmatic way.


Furthermore, you will have:

  • Demonstrated CI mastery, Experienced Lean Master or Certified Six Sigma (Black Belt)
  • Track record of delivering sustainable cultural change and business improvement.
  • Excellent ability to build relationships and influence to deliver change.
  • Detailed knowledge of organisational design, effectiveness, and transformation
  • Ability to coach and build capability and competency across an organisation.
  • Proven leadership and executive coaching skills.
  • A broad mindset and background that leverages system thinking, HR and people development to harness the various levers that contribute to successful change delivery.
  • Ability to connect apparently disparate objectives and solutions and make these meaningful to the business in support of its goals
