We currently have an exciting opportunity to work for our public sector client as an Early Intervention and Prevention Operational Manager.

You will be responsible for the day to day management, supervision, and development of a targeted youth support servicethat ensures access for the most vulnerable young people, to the positive, preventative and early help they need to improve their wellbeing and to promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people involved with the service, raise young people'saspirations, build their resilience, inform their decision and thereby reduce teenage pregnancy and risky behaviours.


Hours of Work - Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 - please note you will be required to work flexibly and this could include providing supervisory cover during the evening, and at the weekend on a rota basis.


Main duties:

  • Oversight and day to day management of Youth Justice cases.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people within the service, ensuring all aspects of the service are responsive to the changing needs of the most vulnerable groups.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of a large and diverse team of professionals.
  • Act as a representative for the service in a range of strategic and operational for a, to represent the interests of the service in negotiating, liaising, and influencing agreements.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external agencies and other services; negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of a range of accredited programmes and/or associated outcomes for youth work activity.

Personal spec:

  • Relevant Degree or National Qualification in Youth and Community Work or entitlement to use the term Social Worker.
  • Extensive and recent experience of operational youth work management.
  • Experience of working with complex cases which include health issues, substance misuse, domestic violence, learning disability, homelessness, antisocial or criminal behaviour and intergenerational family disharmony.
  • Experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating youth work in a variety of settings for young people.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, being selfmotivated, and able to use own initiative under mínimal supervision producing positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate advanced interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, children, young people, and their parents.
